Descendants of Thomas WALKER & Elizabeth JOHNSTON


Thomas and Elizabeth, natives of England, were married in Toronto in 1834. Thomas apparently died about 1849 and Elizabeth worked as a dressmaker in Toronto Township, Peel County, with her son Thomas and daughter Ann in 1861.
Obituary for Elizabeth WALKER; From the Paisley Advocate, Jan 25, 1906
Owen Sound Sun; Mrs. Elizabeth Walker passed quietly away on Thursday at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. W. J. Barnhart, Jackson. Death resulted from ailments of old age. Deceased was married to the late Thomas Walker, and for years resided in the village of Sydenham, Peel County. Her husband predeceased her 45 years ago and for nearly forty years she lived with her daughter, Mrs. John Pearce, of Paisley. A year and a half ago she came to live with her son. Mr.
Thomas Walker, Union st. hill, and four months ago went to spend some time with Mr. Walker's daughter, Mrs. Barnhart, where she passed away. Deceased was in her 88th year and was a lifelong member of the Methodist. church. She leaves three children, Mrs. John Pearce, Paisley; Mrs. Wm. Briggs, Calgary; Mr. Thos. Walker, Owen Sound. The funeral took place on Friday to Greenwood cemetery. The services were conducted by the Rev. P. McNab, of Kilsyth.
